Box Score ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst volleyball team lost to their cross town rival Gannon University, November 8th. Gannon came storming out and claimed the first three sets from the Lakers with scores of (18-25) in set one, (17-25) in set two and (19-25) in set three. This loss drops the Lakers record to 15-11 overall while falling to 7-9 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
 
Senior Sarah Puckett led the scoring for the Lakers, posting a team high 13 kills, while also recording an ace from the service line and two block assists. Senior Lauren Kenny, and Shelby Chesko tied for the next highest scorer on the team, each having six kills throughout the match. With 18 assists Hannah Tombaugh, was the primary setter for the Lakers, followed closely by Makayla Mollé who had ten assists. Seniors Sarah Wegrzyn, and Samantha Giardina were tied on leading the Lakers in digs both players recording 15 in their efforts on the match. Other notable scoring from Mercyhurst was, Wegrzyn and Tombaugh also recorded an ace a piece. While Wegrzyn, Haley Adams, and Kenny all had a solo-block.
 
The Lakers will play next at Edinboro on Novmber 11th, at 7 PM.
