Men's Ice Hockey Suffers 3-0 Loss

The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team suffered a 3-0 loss to New Hampshire in non-conference action on Saturday.
 
Freshman goaltender Colin DeAugustine got his first collegiate start in net, making 38 saves versus the 41 shots he faced.
 
Jason Salvaggio gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead early in the second period and they led the rest of the way from there.
 
A pair of power-play goals in the third period from Patrick Grasso and Marcus Vela increased the Wildcats' lead to three.
 
Winning goaltender Danny Tirone stopped all 14 shots that he faced, recording his fourth career shutout.
 
New Hampshire outshot Mercyhurst,  41-14. The Lakers were 0-for-5 on the power play while the Wildcats were 2-for-7.
 
Mercyhurst will be back in action at the Mercyhurst Ice Center in a home series against Atlantic Hockey opponent Holy Cross on Friday and Saturday. The puck drops both nights at 7:05 p.m.
