Men's Ice Hockey Set to Host RIT

Match Up

The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team welcomes Atlantic Hockey rival RIT on Wednesday.

Last Time Out

The Lakers split their weekend series, this past weekend against AHA Opponent Bentley University. They recorded a 2-1 win on Friday and fell 2-1 on Saturday.

Last Time Around

During last season the Lakers and Tigers matched up four times during the regular season and twice in the post season.
The Tigers swept Mercyhurst in January, before the Lakers swept RIT in their last two games of the regular season to earn a home ice advantage going into the Quarterfinals of the AHA Tournament.
During the AHA Tournament, the Lakers dropped both games to the Tigers.

With a current overall record of 5-7-1 and a conference record of 5-5-0 RIT is sitting in third place in the AHA standings.
Coming off of a weekend sweep of Army, the Tigers are on a two game winning streak.
Cameron Caleb is leading RIT with 12 points. Erik Brown and Myles Powell both have 11 points, while Brady Norrish has ten points.
Powell scored the over-time game winning goal against Army this past weekend.
Ryan Kruper recorded four assists and Danny Smith scored one goal and tallied three assists for four points on Friday night.
RIT senior goaltender Mike Rotolo has played in all of the Tiger's games this season. He has a .895 save percentage and a 2.26 goals against average.

Sophomore Derek Barach is leading the Lakers roster with 14 points. Sophomore Les Lancaster is next with 11 points and junior Jonathan Charbonneau is third with ten points. Senior Kyle Dutra and juniors Zach Todd and Nathan Ferriero have six points each.

Dutra is on a four game point streak. In the last four games, he has recorded four goals and one assist for five points.

The Lakers will head to Buffalo, NY to take on AHA Opponent Canisius College on Friday November 25. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
