Men's Ice Hockey Heads to Bentley

Setting the Stage
  • The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team takes the trip to Waltham, MA for a weekend series matchup against Atlantic Hockey Opponent Bentley University, on Friday and Saturday.
 Last Game Recap
  • The Lakers took on AHA Opponent Niagara University in an away matchup, where they lost 5-4.
 Past Matchup with Bentley
  • Last season, the Lakers and Falcons met four times throughout the season. The Lakers won three of the four matchups.
  • The Lakers traveled to Bentley early in the season and swept the weekend 3-1 and 3-2.
  • Later on in the season, the Falcons came to Erie and stole the first game 4-1. The Lakers bounced back and grabbed a 5-2 win the next night.
 Falcons Line Up
  • With an overall record of 2-4-3 and a conference record of 1-3-2, Bentley has yet to win a game on home ice.
  • Last week the Falcons tied AIC 2-2 on Tuesday and 1-1 on Thursday.
  • They beat out-of-conference New Hampshire University 5-1 at the start of the season.
  • Max French is leading the Falcons with ten points, while Kyle Schmidt is second with six points.
 Barach Leading the Lakers
  • Sophomore Derek Barach is leading the Laker's roster with two goals and 11 assists for 13 points in nine games.
  • He recorded two assists during the Lakers last game, against Niagara University.
 AHA Player of the Week
  • Junior Jonathan Charbonneau was named as the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week for his performance during the Lakers weekend series against Holy Cross.
  • Scoring four goals and one assist, he recorded points in five of the six goals that the Lakers scored during the weekend.
 Next Time Out
  • The Lakers will host AHA Opponent RIT on Wed. Nov. 23, for a one-game matchup. Puck is set to drop at 7:05 p.m. at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
