Men's Ice Hockey Readies to Host Holy Cross

Setting the Stage
  • The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team welcomes Atlantic Hockey Opponent Holy Cross this weekend.
  • The Lakers are 2-4-0 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play.
  • The Crusaders are 4-2-2 overall and 1-1-2 in conference play. 
Last Time on the Ice
  • The Lakers took their first road trip of the season and fell short to Merrimack College on Friday 5-1 and the University of New Hampshire on Saturday 3-0.
Previous Matchup
  • During last season, Mercyhurst traveled to Worcester, MA where the Crusaders swept the weekend series, winning 5-4 and 7-3.
Holy Cross Leaders
  • The Crusaders are coming off of a two game series against AHA Opponent AIC. During the series Holy Cross dropped the first game 4-2 and then tied the second game 4-4.
  • T.J. Moore and Mike Barrett are leading the team in points with 13 each. Danny Lopez is following closely behind with 10 points.
  • Holy Cross defeated nationally ranked No. 11 Providence and No. 20 Union earlier this season.
Laker Lineup
  • Juniors Jonathan Charbonneau and Zach Todd are leading the roster in goals with three each.
  • Sophomore Derek Barach leads the Laker roster with two goals and six assists for eight points.
  • Freshman goaltender Colin DeAugustine played in his first collegiate game against the University of New Hampshire on Saturday. Despite the loss, he stopped 38 of 41 shots that he faced.
Movember Update
  • The Lakers are growing mustaches for the whole month of November to raise money and awareness for men's mental health, prostate and testicular cancer, through the Movember Foundation.

Next Up
  • The Lakers head to Niagara Falls, NY to take on the Purple Eagles for their second meeting of the year on Tue. Nov. 15.
