Box Score EAST STROUDSBURG Pa. – The Mercyhurst volleyball team defeated Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) competitor East Stroudsburg on October 29th. The Lakers had to fight through five sets before finally sealing their victory. The Lakers claimed the first and third sets with scores of (25-22) and (25-18). While the Warriors claimed the second and fourth sets with scores of (25-23) for both. Mercyhurst claimed a hard fought fifth set having to reach 19 points before reaching the two point threshold over East Stroudsburg. This win pushes Mercyhurst's record to 13-11 overall while rising to 5-8 in the PSAC. The Warriors record will drop to 11-16 overall and 3-10 in the PSAC.
 
Sophomore Shelby Chesko led the Lakers offense having 16 kills, and two block assists, towards the score. Seniors Lauren Kenny, and Sarah Wegrzyn, were second and third respectively in assisting the Lakers offense. Kenny recorded 15 kills as well as two block assists, while Wegrzyn recorded 14 kills and had a service ace. Senior Hannah Tombaugh and junior Makayla Mollé helped the Lakers offence by each providing 24 assists a piece, Molle also provided an ace from the service line. Samantha Giardina was the game leader in digs recording 31. Wegrzyn and Tombaugh also prevalent in the category receiving 19 and 14 respectively for their efforts.
