ERIE, Pa. -- Mercyhurst goaltender
Adam Carlson made 35 saves and the Lakers men's hockey team used a pair of power-play goals to claim a 3-1 win over American International during Atlantic Hockey action in front of 1,135 fans at the Mercyhurst Ice Center on Friday.

Derek Barach collected tallies on the man-advantage,
Kyle Cook added a short-handed empty-netter and
Lester Lancaster dished two assists for the Lakers (12-12-1, 10-8-1), who snapped a three-game winless streak.
Best got MU on the board with a first-period PP goal, getting assists from Lancaster and Barach. Barach later extended the Laker advantage to 2-0 in the second; he received assists from Lancaster and
Jonathan Charbonneau.
AIC goalie Alex Murray kept the Yellow Jackets (5-19-2, 5-13-2) in the game the rest of the way, totaling 39 stops.
The Jackets cut their deficit to 2-1 with 3:10 remaining and -- 46 seconds later -- went on the power play before Cook iced the game with 50 ticks left on the clock. Cook was assisted by
Tommaso Bucci.
The Lakers outshot AIC, 42-36, and finished 2-for-5 on the power play. The Yellow Jackets were 0-for-3 on the power play.
The same two teams will meet again on Saturday in Erie, starting at 7:05 p.m.
