PITTSBURGH, Pa. The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team dropped a 6-1 contest to Robert Morris in Atlantic Hockey action on Saturday.
Jonathan Charbonneau scored the lone Laker goal, pulling the visitors to a 4-1 deficit before the host Colonials scored the game's final two goals. Charbonneau's score occurred on the power play with assists from
Lester Lancaster and
Taylor Best.
Greg Gibson was the leading point-getter for RMU, which received votes in the latest USCHO poll. Gibson had one goal and two assists while Brandon Watt (one goal, one assist) and Tyson Wilson (two assists) chipped in with two-point nights.
Mercyhurst goaltender
Adam Carlson finished with 32 saves while Robert Morris netminder Terry Shafer finished with 35 stops.
The Colonials (15-7-4, 12-4-4) outshot MU, 38-36. RMU went 1-for-5 on the power play while Mercyhurst finished 1-for-4 on the man-advantage.
The Lakers (11-12-1, 9-8-1) will be in action next on Jan. 29-30 when American International visits Erie for a two-game AHA series.
