ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst University men's soccer team (3-6, 3-1 PSAC) lost to Urbana (5-1-1, 3-1 MEC), 1-0, in non-conference play Sunday afternoon at Mercyhurst Soccer Field.

After a nil-nil first half, the Blue Knights opened fire first, scoring the only goal of the match at the 55 minute mark. Mike McFarlane gathered a rebound from a ball played back to the keeper and beat Laker net minder Daniel Lowton right side.  It was McFarlane's fifth goal of the season.

The Lakers had limited opportunities in the second half to even the score. Mercyhurst's Hunter Burri recorded the only shot on net in the half as the Lakers only generated two shots on net the entire game.

Urbana outshot Mercyhurst, 7-6 (4-2 on net), while the Lakers held the corner advantage, 3-2.

Mercyhurst will travel to Cedarville (Ohio) for another non-conference match before returning to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action Saturday at Pitt-Johnstown. Wednesday's match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
