CLARION, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's soccer team tied Clarion University, 2-2, Tuesday night. Senior
Kristina Roberti scored both goals for the Lakers in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup.
Roberti, a Webster, N.Y. native, continues her hot streak as she went on to score the first goal of the game just seven minutes into the match, to give the Lakers a 1-0 advantage.
Right before the end of the half, Roberti struck again off a pass from Senior
Fawn Mulholland that propelled Mercyhurst to a 2-0 halftime lead. The goal was Roberti's fourth of the season.
The Golden Eagles would battle their way back in the second half, tying the game at two. Clarion tied the game with only 1:13 to play in the game, scoring at the 88:47 mark.
The Lakers outshot the Golden Eagles 13-6 on net, while both teams each had four corner opportunities.
With Tuesday's tie, Mercyhurst is 1-2-2 overall and 1-2-2 in conference play. Clarion is 1-3-1, 1-3-1 PSAC.
Mercyhurst is back on the road for a battle with East Stroudsburg Sunday, Semptember 20. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
