ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team dropped a 56-48 decision to Ursuline in non-conference action at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center on Wednesday.
Mercyhurst's
Natalie Piaggesi led all scorers with 17 points while
Hayley Andres grabbed nine rebounds.
Ursuline opened the game with an 8-0 run and led the entire way.
The Arrows led by as many as 18 in the first half before the host Lakers battled back to a nine-point deficit. Piaggesi had four points and then Andres buried a three-pointer as MU closed the third quarter with a seven-point stretch, closing its deficit to 46-37.
Ursuline responded with a nine-point run, pushing its lead to 55-37 in the fourth. A Mercyhurst 11-1 run closed the game.
Camryn Hill had a double-double for the visitors, compiling 13 points and 11 rebounds. Brigan Wymer and Laney Lewis also had 13 points.
The Lakers (3-8) will return to action on Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. non-conference game at West Virginia Wesleyan.
