Kathy Donohue scored her first goal of the season and lifted Mercyhurst to a 1-0 win at Penn State on Friday night. Donohue's goal highlighted a strong second period for Mercyhurst as the Lakers took 16 shots in the second stanza, including Donohue's connection at 17:54.
Lauren Kilroy and
Jaclyn Arbour assisted on the goal, helping Mercyhurst win its third straight to move to 3-5-1, 3-0-0 CHA. Meanwhile, Penn State drops to 3-7-1, 0-2-1.
For Kilroy and Arbour, it was both their second helper this season. Kilroy has now had a point in each of the last two games after added an assist in the Lakers 4-3 win against RIT last Saturday.
Sarah McDonnell turned away 23 shots for her second shutout of the season.
The Lakers return to action tomorrow for another contest at Penn State. Face-off is set for 2 p.m.
