Blair Pembleton scored two goals as the Lakers opened 2014 with a road victory.
Marissa Faso got things started Friday, scoring after just 2:01 of action.
Emily Burns assisted on the goal. Pembleton gave Mercyhurst insurance at the 26:45 mark. Freshman
Nicolette Tomani followed with a goal for a 3-0 advantage with just over thirty minutes played.
In the second half,
Jessica Hillman found
Kelsey Lovelace for a score at the 51:52 mark. After a Dowling goal, Pembleton put the Lakers back ahead by four.
Andrea Goldbach capped the scoring at the 69:43 mark of the match.
The Lakers tried 24 shots, putting 18 on goal. The Lions mustered four shots in the contest. Each team earned six corner tries. Â
The Lakers play at Adelphi on Sunday, September 7. The game is set for a noon start.
