GAFFNEY, S.C.- THE Mercyhurst field hockey team lost, 3-1, at #6 Limestone Sunday afternoon. Blair Pembleton scored for the Lakers in the non-conference match.
 
After playing a scoreless game for over 20 minutes, Mercyhurst struck first. Pembleton beat the Saints goalkeeper to the upper right side at the 21:35 mark, giving the visitors a 1-0 edge. It marked Pembleton's seventh goal of the year. Jess Wess made a pair of saves to send the Lakers into halftime ahead.
 
In the second half, Limestone scored three times to take the decision.
 
Wess finished with six stops in net. Mercyhurst is 4-4 this season. It travels to Kutztown on Saturday, October 4, for a PSAC contest.
