ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst volleyball team hosts Edinboro and Slippery Rock in a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division matches at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center this weekend. The Lakers take on Edinboro on Friday, September 26, at 7:05 p.m. and then face Slippery Rock the next day at 4:05 p.m.

Saturday's match will mark Military Appreciation Day at the MAC. Veterans from the PA Soldiers and Sailors Home will be honored prior to the contest.

Mercyhurst is 9-2 overall and 4-0 in the PSAC. It has won eight straight outings, including four PSAC crossover wins last weekend. The Lakers have swept their opponent in eight of their nine victories this season.

Edinboro has an 11-2 record, including a 4-0 PSAC mark. The Fighting Scots are on a nine-match winning streak, having taken down four PSAC Eastern Division teams last weekend.

Slippery Rock is 10-2 overall and 4-0 in the conference. It enters the weekend on a five-match winning streak. The Rock defeated four Eastern Division schools in crossover play last weekend.

Sarah Wegrzyn leads Mercyhurst with 114.5 points (101 kills, three aces, nine block assists).
Lexi Stefanov is next with 80.5 and
Camille Alvarez has 78.5 points.
Kelly Vitt has dished out 267 assists, while
Samantha Giardina has 146 digs to lead the team.

The Scots feature a balanced attack, with Marah Maycock, Jen Gruber, and Maria Concheck all having scored between 113 and 119 points this year. Maycock has 101 kills, while Concheck paces the team with 43 total blocks. Sydney Trathen has posted 302 assists and Haley Marett has 220 digs.

Kristy Lake paces The Rock with 127 points. Leah Jones is next with 114 this season. Janna Reilly and Nicole Fortuna have combined for 342 assists and Jones leads with 128 digs.
