#10 Women's Lax Hosts The Rock in Home Finale Wednesday

ERIE, Pa.- The #10 Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team hosts Slippery Rock on Wednesday, April 23. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match is set for a 4 p.m. start at Tullio Field.

Mercyhurst is 13-2 overall and 9-1 in the PSAC. It defeated Kutztown and Bloomsburg at home last weekend. Becca Himes has 80 points (46 goals, 34 assists) this season, second-most in the PSAC and ninth in the nation. Jenna Schlagenhauf has scored a team-high 53 goals and Mackenzie Jordan has 37 on the year. Hannah Corton has tallied 26 goals and 14 assists, while Anna LeGrett has added 18 goals and 17 helpers. Rebecca Muscella stands third in the conference with her 8.32 goals against average in 14 appearances.
 
The Lakers, who have secured a spot in the PSAC Tournament, close the regular season on Saturday at Shippensburg. With wins in each of its last two regular season games, Mercyhurst will clinch at least a share of the PSAC regular season title for the first time since 2010. The Lakers can claim an outright championship with two wins this week and a Lock Haven loss.
 
Slippery Rock has a 6-9 record, including a 3-7 PSAC mark. It beat Millersville and fell to Kutztown at home last weekend. Morgan Pettit has scored 51 goals to pace The Rock. Paige Constantino has compiled 35 goals and 13 assists. Kaytlin Callaghan, Jess Verbic, and Erin Wilcox have combined for 72 goals this season.
 
Last season, the Lakers beat Slippery Rock, 20-10, at Tullio Field. LeGrett scored twice and dished out a career-high seven assists. Himes put up two goals and three helpers, while Corton posted a hat trick and an assist. Mercyhurst leads the all-time series, 8-0, over SRU.
