ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team hosts Gannon in a key Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division game on Saturday, February 8, at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Mercyhurst won, 63-56, at California (Pa.) on Wednesday, while Gannon defeated Slippery Rock, 59-56. The Lakers are tied atop the Western Division with #9 Indiana (Pa.) at 8-2. Gannon is 8-3 in the conference, with Slippery Rock just behind at 7-4. The top six teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the PSAC Tournament, with the top two teams earning byes and the third and fourth seeds getting home games in the playoffs.

Mercyhurst is 12-8 overall and enters Saturday on a four-game winning streak. It is giving up 61.1 points per game, good for fourth nationally. The Lakers have won eight games when scoring fewer than 70 points this season. That total is the most in the PSAC.

Gannon has a 13-8 overall and has won seven of its last eight outings. GU is giving up 59.9 points a game, third-fewest in the country. It swept The Rock for the first time since 2009-10.

Jonathan Ouegnin has been the Lakers' top performer this season, leading the team in scoring (10.1), rebounding (5.5), assists (3.2), steals (1.7), and field goal shooting (55 percent).
Jean Onana is averaging 9.3 points a game after putting up 14 points at Cal earlier this week.

Adam Blazek is the lone Golden Knight posting double figures per game this season. He is scoring 15.6 points, having hit 50 three-pointers. Raphell Thomas-Edwards scored 20 points on Wednesday, improving his season average to 9.1 points a game.

On December 7, Mercyhurst rallied for a 58-54 victory at Gannon. GU led, 43-32, with 12:50 remaining, but the Lakers recorded a 13-0 run to take charge and eventually pull out a win. Onana scored 17 points. Coach
