Women's Soccer Ties Clarion in Double Overtime, 0-0

ERIE, Pa. – On a rainy senior day, the Mercyhurst women's soccer team went the distance with Clarion as they tied in double overtime, 0-0.

For the Lakers, it was the last time seniors Janine Wong, Kiley Cleveland, Emily Leiby, and Victoria Alai would take the field wearing a Mercyhurst uniform.

Mercyhurst went on to outshoot the Golden Eagles 30-12 in the contest. The Lakers generated some great looks on net but were not able to get anything past Clarion goalkeeper Laura Saussol. Saussol recorded 13 saves.

Clarion would hold the corner kick advantage, 7-4.

The Mercyhurst defense played a stellar game, holding the Golden Eagles to only three shots on net.

Laker goalkeeper Kristen Koch recorded three saves, as her record is now 0-4-1 in net.

Mercyhurst's record is now 4-11-2 overall and 3-10-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play. Clarion is now 3-10-2 overall and 3-10-2 in the PSAC.

The Lakers will be back in action Saturday for their final game of the regular season at Indiana (Pa.). Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
