Women's Soccer Ends Season with a Tie at Indiana (Pa.), 1-1, in Double Overtime

INDIANA, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's soccer team tied Indiana (Pa.), 1-1, in double overtime - the third straight tie to end the regular season.

The Crimson Hawks would strike first in the 68th minute when Brittany Kuhns scored her ninth goal of the season. Kuhns dribbled down the left side to create a shot that got behind Laker goalkeeper Kristen Koch for a late, 1-0, advantage.

Senior Janine Wong would provide the equalizer with less than six minutes remaining in the contest at the 84:54 mark. Wong was able to put a shot by IUP keeper Jessica Prince for her seventh goal of the season.

The Crimson Hawks outshot the Lakers, 10-7, throughout the contest. There were no shots generated in each of the overtime frames.

Koch recorded five saves to finish 0-4-2 on the season.

There were three cautions presented during the game as Mercyhurst's Lauren Testa and Indian's Erica Boyle both received a yellow card in the 89th minute. The Lakers' Rachel Fulton would also receive a yellow card in the 102nd minute of the second overtime.

Mercyhurst finishes the season at 4-11-3 overall and a 3-10-3  in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
