ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst volleyball team will host California (Pa.) and Seton Hill in a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contests this weekend. The Lakers face Cal on Friday, October 17, at 7 p.m. and then take on Seton Hill the next day at 4 p.m.

Mercyhurst is 14-7 overall and 9-4 in the PSAC. It dropped a four-game decision at Wheeling Jesuit Tuesday.
Sarah Wegrzyn scored 17.5 points and
Kelly Vitt recorded 39 assists and 13 digs.

Cal has a 19-5 record, including an 11-2 mark in the league. The Vulcans enter the weekend on a 12-match winning streak, including a sweep of Shepherd Tuesday. Danielle Hayes finished 14.5 points in the victory.

Seton Hill is 2-12 this season, including an 11-2 PSAC record. The Griffins have won seven in a row coming into this weekend. In a sweep of West Virginia Wesleyan Wednesday, Shelby Kyllo led with 15 points. Lauren Teed compiled 20 digs.

Wegrzyn leads the Lakers with 223.5 points, including 199 kills. Vitt has compiled 733 assists, while
Samantha Giardina has put up 341 digs.
Lexi Stefanov has tallied 200.5 points and
Lauren Kenny has added 195.5 on the season.

Laurel Miller paces Cal with 335 points in 2014. Hayes is next with 237.5 points. Megan Litoborski and Taylor Solo have combined for 764 assists and Samantha Rudy has 273 digs.

Kyllo has recorded 348 points to lead the Griffins this year. Corrine Gahagen has 300.5 points, while Courtney Field has totaled 681 assists. Teed's 365 digs are a team high.

Clarion leads the PSAC Western Division entering this weekend. The Eagles are 12-1, with Cal, Seton Hill, and Gannon all a game behind at 11-2. Mercyhurst and Edinboro are next at 9-4, with Slippery Rock in seventh at 8-5. The top four teams from the division at the end of the regular season will advance to the PSAC Tournament.
