#9 Field Hockey Hosts #1 Shippensburg Tuesday Afternoon

Emily Burns and the Lakers will look to beat the top-ranked Raiders Tuesday.
ERIE, Pa.- The #9 Mercyhurst field hockey team hosts #1 Shippensburg on Tuesday, September 24. The non-conference game is set for a 3 p.m. start at Tullio Field.

The Lakers are 3-2 this season, coming off a 4-1 win at #6 Kutztown on Saturday night. Marissa Faso, Allison Brace, Meghan Smith, and Katlyn Heitzhaus each scored as Mercyhurst outshot the Bears, 23-5, on the night.
 
Shippensburg is 6-0 in 2013, including a 4-3 win over IUP last weekend. The Raiders defeated West Chester, the defending NCAA Champions, on September 10.
 
Faso and Blair Pembleton lead the Lakers with four goals apiece. Jess Wess has a 2.83 goals against average and a .676 save percentage in goal.
 
Bre White paces the Raiders' attack, having totaled eight goals and five assists this season. Carenna Neely is allowing 1.58 goals per game in her six starts.
