KUTZTOWN, Pa.- The #9 Mercyhurst field hockey team won, 4-1, at #6 Kutztown Saturday night. Four different Lakers scored as Mercyhurst picked up its first road win of the season.

Kutztown got on the board first, as Erin Danner scored at the 14:51 mark of the first half. Mercyhurst took over from there. After peppering the KU defense, the Lakers broke through to tie the game. In the 29
th minute,
Meghan Smith put a shot on goal.
Marissa Faso knocked in the resulting loose ball, making it 1-all late in the period.

In the second half, Mercyhurst continued pressuring the Bears. KU goalkeeper Kayla Denninger made a pair of saves, but
Allison Brace finally scored, giving the visitors a 2-1 edge at the 51:37 mark.

Denninger made two more saves before Mercyhurst struck again. In the 56
th minute, Smith found the back of the net, making it 3-1 Lakers. Just a few minutes later,
Katlyn Heitzhaus got in on the action, capping the scoring at the 63:11 mark.

Mercyhurst dominated possession throughout the match, outshooting KU, 23-5. In the first half, the Lakers earned six penalty corners to just one for the Bears.
