Field Hockey Drops Decision at Seton Hill Wednesday

The field hockey team will play at Kutztown on Saturday night.

GREENSBURG, Pa.- The #9 Mercyhurst field hockey team lost, 3-0, at Seton Hill Wednesday afternoon. In the non-conference game, Jess Wess made nine saves in goal for the Lakers.
 
The match was scoreless for over 28 minutes before Jaydyn Morrison found the back of the net for a 1-0 Seton Hill lead. In the second half, McDonough Scanlon scored at the 52:50 mark and then Lauren Mariano closed the goal-scoring in the 65th minute.
 
Kelsey Lovelace paced Mercyhurst with five shots. Meghan Smith attempted four. Wess posted nine saves, including six in the first half. The Lakers compiled 10 penalty corners to nine for the Griffins.
 
The Lakers dropped to 2-2 with the loss. Seton Hill is now 2-3 in 2013.
 
Mercyhurst returns to action on Saturday, September 21, at #6 Kutztown. The non-conference contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
