Field Hockey Heads to Seton Hill Looking for 3rd Straight Win

Emily Koestler and the Lakers travel to Seton Hill Wednesday.
ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst field hockey team travels to Seton Hill on Wednesday, September 18, for a non-conference game. The match is set for a 4 p.m. start at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.

Mercyhurst is 2-1 after beating Limestone and #9 East Stroudsburg at home last weekend. Blair Pembleton scored twice in a 3-1 win over Limestone and then scored the game-winning goal against ESU. She was selected Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Athlete of the Week for her efforts.

Marissa Faso tallied two goals in the 4-2 victory. It was the Lakers' first win over a ranked opponent since 2009, when they beat #3 IUP. The win over the Warriors was Mercyhurst's first in 14 all-time meetings.

Seton Hill has a 1-3 record this season. It has lost three home contests, while beating IUP, 3-0, on the road September 10. Ashley Reid leads the team with four goals. In 2012, the Griffins went 7-11, splitting two games with Mercyhurst.

The Lakers lead the all-time series, 14-5. The teams split two meetings in each of the last three seasons.
