Women's Lacrosse Moves to 13th In New IWLCA Poll

GRAND LAKE, Colo.- The Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team moved up to 13th in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) weekly poll. The Lakers are 9-2 this season and will play two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matches this week.
 
In the rankings, defending national champion LIU-Post remained in first. West Chester is second, with Limestone third. Undefeated Adelphi checks in at fourth, while Rollins and Pfeiffer are fifth and sixth, respectively. Le Moyne is tabbed seventh and Lock Haven eighth. Florida Southern is ranked ninth this week. Dowling, Stonehill, and Bentley are 10-11-12. Mercyhurst moved up to 13th, with Indiana (Pa.) next and New Haven rounding out the top fifteen.
 
The Lakers split two road games last weekend, beating Kutztown before falling at #2 West Chester. Mercyhurst heads to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, April 10, and then hosts #14 IUP on Saturday, April 13.
 
Coach Cecil Pilson's squad is 9-2 overall and 5-1 in the PSAC. Kayla Minner leads the team with 32 goals and 21 assists, while Rebecca Himes has 30 goals and 22 assists. Anna LeGrett leads the team with 24 assists and Alisha Catalino has 25 goals.
 
East Stroudsburg is 1-8 this season, including an 0-5 PSAC mark. The Warriors lost, to IUP, 16-8, on April 6. Sarah Ginn paces the team with 21 goals.
