ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team plays at Lock Haven Wednesday, February 6. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contest is slated for an 8 p.m. tip-off at Thomas Fieldhouse.

The Lakers snapped a four-game losing streak with a dramatic 70-67 overtime win against California (Pa.) February 2.
Jonathan Ouegnin made a buzzer-beating three-pointer to give Mercyhurst a much-needed victory. Ouegnin recorded 19 points, eight rebounds, five blocked shots, and four assists. Freshmen

Jean Onana played big roles in the Lakers' comeback from a nine-point deficit in the second half. Hoying scored seven points and grabbed eight boards on his way to being named PSAC Western Division Freshman of the Week. Onana scored a career-high 13 points, including 11 in the second half Saturday.
Lock Haven has lost nine straight, including a 77-66 defeat at Gannon February 2. The Bald Eagles are still looking for their first Western Division win this season. They knocked off East Stroudsburg in December, giving the Eastern Division-leading Warriors their lone conference loss.
Mercyhurst is 12-9 overall and 8-7 in the league. It is alone in fifth place in the Western Division, a game back of Edinboro and a game ahead of Cal. The top six teams from each division qualify for the PSAC Tournament. IUP, Gannon, and Slippery Rock have all clinched berths in the conference playoffs. Lock Haven (5-13, 3-12 PSAC) is tied with Clarion for seventh place in the division. The teams are four games behind Cal for the final PSAC Tournament spot.
Luis Leao leads the Lakers with 19.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per outing. He is shooting 51.9 from the field and 83.3 from the free throw line. Ouegnin is next with 8.7 points, 3.8 boards, 3.6 assists, and 2 steals. The junior is also shooting 59 percent from the floor and 82.8 percent from the foul line.
Wali Hepburn paces the PSAC in scoring with 21.8 points per game. He is averaging 6.3 boards and 4.1 assists. Kasheef Festus is putting up 15.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per outing.
The Lakers are fourth in the conference in scoring defense, allowing 62.1 points per game. Lock Haven is third in scoring at 74.3 points. The game features two of the best shooting teams in the league, as the Eagles are hitting 46.6 percent from the field and the Lakers are making 45.7 percent of their attempts.
