ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team heads to Edinboro for a key Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division game on Wednesday, February 27. The winner of the contest will host a first-round PSAC Tournament on Saturday, March 2. Tip-off for Wednesday is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at McComb Fieldhouse.

The teams are tied for fourth in the West at 12-9 with one game left in the regular season. They will face each other in the first round of the conference playoffs, with the winner of Wednesday's matchup earning hosting rights.
Mercyhurst has a 16-11 overall record after falling, 53-52, at California (Pa.) Saturday.
Luis Leao scored 16 points, including 14 in the second half. Keith Lowe made a layup and a free throw with 5.5 seconds left to put the Vulcans ahead for good.
Edinboro is 16-9 this season, including a 81-63 victory over Clarion Saturday. Four Scots scored in double figures, led by Bryan Theriot with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jay Fletcher hit four three-pointers on his way to 17 points in the win.
The meeting will feature one of the top offenses and one of the top defenses in the PSAC. Edinboro is third in scoring at 75.8 points per game, while Mercyhurst is third in points allowed at 59.7 points per. The Lakers lead the league in foul shooting, converting 76.9 percent from the line. The Scots are tops in the PSAC with 7.6 made threes per outing.
The teams both have players in all-conference consideration. Leao is fourth in scoring at 18.6 points, just behind Theriot, who is third with 18.8 points per game. Isaiah Prince and Fletcher join Theriot in the top 15 in PSAC scoring. Theriot is also third in the conference in rebounding (9.2), field goal percentage (55.7 percent), and free throw percentage (86.3 percent).
Ouegnin ranks fourth in assists per game with four and Fletcher is first with five per outing. Fletcher is also first in assist-to-turnover ratio (plus-2.0) and made three-pointers per game. Ouegnin stands second in assist-to-turnover ratio at plus-1.6.
Edinboro won, 65-59, at Mercyhurst January 30. Prince scored a career-high 37 points, making seven threes, to lead the Scots. Leao had 20 points, six boards, and four assists for the Lakers.
