ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team hosts #24 Gannon Wednesday, February 20, at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. The contest will be preceded by a Mercyhurst Alumni Reception.

Gary Manchel's squad upset #11 Indiana (Pa.), 57-48, on Saturday.
Luis Leao recorded 19 points and nine rebounds, while
Terrence Ingram matched a career high with 17 points-all in the second half. With the victory, the Lakers secured an eighth straight winning season and beat IUP for the third consecutive year.
Gannon beat Clarion, 67-48, on Saturday, bouncing back from a three-point loss to Edinboro last week. In the win over the Golden Eagles, Darrell Blanton had 17 points and eight boards. Oscar Macias added 16 points.
The Lakers enter Wednesday with a 15-10 overall record and an 11-8 PSAC mark. They are tied with Edinboro for fourth place in the Western Division. IUP leads at 15-4, with Gannon and Slippery Rock a game back at 14-5 in league play. Mercyhurst and Edinboro are competing for the final first-round home game in the PSAC Tournament. California (Pa.) is 9-10 in the conference and has clinched the last playoff bid in the Western Division.
Leao paces the Lakers with 19 points and 6.8 boards per game.
Jonathan Ouegnin is putting up 8.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals per outing. He is also shooting 53.3 percent from the field.
Blanton leads Gannon with 16.2 points and 6.7 rebounds. He is hitting 58.2 percent from the floor. Robert Wilson is next with 12.2 points and 6.3 boards per contest.
The contest will match up two of the stingiest defenses in the conference. Gannon allows 58 points per game (second in the PSAC) and Mercyhurst is giving up 61.1 points, good for third in the league. GU leads the conference in field goal shooting, making 48.1 percent of its attempts. The Lakers rank fifth at 44.5 percent. Mercyhurst leads the PSAC in foul shooting, converting 77.3 percent from the line. That mark also stands fourth in all of Division II.
In the first meeting between the programs this season, the Knights won, 56-42, at home last month.
