ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst volleyball team hosts crosstown rival Gannon on Tuesday, November 5. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division match is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. The winner will earn The Diocese Trophy for the 2013 season.

Mercyhurst is 15-12 overall and 9-8 in the PSAC. It split two home contests last weekend, sweeping Edinboro before falling to Slippery Rock in four games.

Gannon has a 16-10 record, including an 11-6 mark in conference action. It defeated The Rock in four sets and then swept Edinboro over the weekend.

In 2013,
Rachel Crittle leads the Lakers with 302.5 points (213 kills, 37 aces, 13 block solos, 79 block assists). Her 0.96 blocks per game is eighth in the conference. Sophomore
Lexi Stefanov is next with 265.5 points (234 kills, 7 block solos, 49 block assists) and
Nicole Texido has 450 digs. Stefanov ranks ninth in the PSAC with a .290 hitting percentage, while Texido stands sixth with 4.74 digs per game.
Kelly Vitt has recorded 522 assists and
Tai Lattimore has 444 this year.

Hannah Kren paces the Lady Knights with 365 points (315 kills, 29 aces, 1 block solo, 40 block assists). Megan Wendel has posted 953 assists, while Taryn Graham has 409 digs. Wendel is third in the conference in assists and Graham is fifth in digs per game. Morgan Walters is averaging 0.46 aces per set, good for fourth in the league.

Mercyhurst won in four games at Gannon on October 8, picking up its first win downtown since 2008. Crittle led with 16 points and Texido compiled 27 digs.Â
The Diocese Trophy is awarded to the winner of the annual Mercyhurst-Gannon match, with the site of awarded contest rotating between the two schools.
