Field Hockey Travels to #2 Millersville to "Play4theCure"

ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst field hockey team travels to #2 Millersville on Wednesday, October 9. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start. Proceeds from the game will benefit "Play4theCure".

The Lakers have a 4-5 overall record and an 0-2 PSAC mark. They dropped a 5-4 decision to Kutztown on October 5. Katlyn Heitzhaus, Allison Brace, Meghan Smith, and Cayla Slade each scored in the match.
 
Millersville is off to an 8-0 start, including three league wins. It won, 2-0, at Slippery Rock last weekend, as Lauren Sotzin recorded four saves in her fifth shutout of the season.
 
Blair Pembleton leads Mercyhurst with six goals. Kelsey Lovelace and Marissa Faso have each scored four goals. Jess Wess has a 3.49 goals against average and a .631 save percentage in nine starts in net.
 
Rachel Dickinson paces the Marauders' attack with five goals. Sarah Bomberger has dished out six assists, while Sotzin is giving up 0.50 goals per game-best in Division II.
 
Millersville won, 4-2, in Mercyhurst's season-opener September 8. Faso and Pembleton scored for the Lakers. Mercyhurst is the only team to score more than one goal against the Marauders this season.
