Erie, Pa. – Mercyhurst Lakers Field Hockey competed against the Ohio Bobcats on October 4, 2026, at Pruitt Field in Athens, Ohio, as part of Ohio's Senior Day Game. Unfortunately, the Lakers were unable to record a shot, resulting in a 0-14 loss to Ohio, marking their first encounter with the Bobcats in program history.
The Mercyhurst Lakers faced a challenging matchup against Ohio, with the Bobcats taking an early lead and maintaining their momentum throughout the game. Ohio scored two goals in the first quarter, followed by two more in the second quarter. Despite the defensive efforts from Mercyhurst, Ohio expanded their lead further with three goals in the third quarter and concluded the game with seven goals in the final quarter. Throughout the match, Ohio managed 50 shots, 31 of which were on goal, while Mercyhurst did not record any shots on goal.

Victoria Campana made 14 saves in the first 46 minutes and 20 seconds of play, followed by
Morgan Smith, who recorded an additional three saves for Mercyhurst. Despite the high number of goals conceded, the Lakers' goalkeepers faced relentless pressure from Ohio's offense.
