Volleyball to Play at Crosstown Rival Gannon Tuesday Night

The Lakers make the trip to Gannon on Tuesday night.
ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst volleyball team will make the short trip downtown for a match at rival Gannon Tuesday, October 8. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at the Hammermill Center.

Mercyhurst is 11-5 overall and 5-1 in the PSAC. It won two road matches last weekend, taking down Slippery Rock and Edinboro in four games each. In the win at The Rock, Sarah Vick led with 14 points (13 kills, two block assists). Against the Fighting Scots, Lexi Stefanov posted a career-high 19 points (17 kills, four block assists).
 
Gannon has a 10-5 overall mark and a 5-1 PSAC record. Kayla Knickerbocker totaled 14 points (13 kills, two block assists) in the loss to Edinboro, while Hannah Kren paced the attack with 15.5 points (14 kills, one ace, one block assist) against Slippery Rock the next day.
 
In 2013, Rachel Crittle leads Mercyhurst with 176.5 points. Camille Alvarez is next with 143 points. Tai Lattimore and Kelly Vitt have combined for 506 assists, while Nicole Texido has posted 247 digs.
 
Kren paces Gannon's offense with 190.5 points. Megan Wendel has dished out 493 assists and Taryn Graham has 193 digs.
