WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The #10 Mercyhurst field hockey team lost, 9-0, at #5 West Chester Tuesday afternoon. The Lakers will now host #6 Bloomsburg with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament spot on the line Saturday, November 2.

The Golden Rams took a 5-0 lead at the half and then tacked on four more goals in the second period.
Jess Wess recorded 14 saves in the contest.

The Lakers dropped to 9-8 overall and 4-5 in the PSAC. They host #6 Bloomsburg on Saturday, November 2. The match is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start at Tullio Field.

The top four seeds in the PSAC Tournament have been claimed. Shippensburg is the top team, with Millersville, West Chester, and Bloomsburg filling out the top four slots. Mercyhurst, East Stroudsburg, Indiana (Pa.), and Kutztown will compete for the final two bids on Saturday. The Lakers can clinch a berth with a win over Bloom. They can also secure a spot with losses by Kutztown and IUP. ESU and Kutztown face each other Saturday, while IUP and Millersville square off.
