ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst field hockey team hosts a pair of games at Tullio Field this weekend. The Lakers face Slippery Rock on Friday, October 25, at 3 p.m. in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match. They then take on Bellarmine on Saturday, October 26, at 5 p.m.

Mercyhurst is 7-7 overall and 3-4 in the PSAC. It beat Mansfield, 4-0, on Wednesday to move into a tie for sixth place in the conference. The top six teams at the end of the regular season advance to the PSAC Tournament.

Blair Pembleton recorded her second career hat trick in the victory. She was the last Laker to score three goals in one game, finding the back of the net three times at Seton Hill on September 13, 2011.
Meghan Smith scored at the 46:33 mark of the second half to make it 3-0. Pembleton followed with a goal just 15 seconds later-the shortest span between two Mercyhurst goals since 2005. Alicia Guzzo and Courtney Monin scored 12 seconds apart against St. Vincent on October 29, 2005.

Slippery Rock has a 6-10 record, including a 2-6 league mark. It lost, 4-2, to #1 Shippensburg on Wednesday. The Rock fell behind, 2-0, before tying the game midway through the second half. Ship answered with two late goals to remain undefeated this year.

Bellarmine is 6-7 in 2013. The Knights are an independent program coming a 6-2 loss at Lindenwood last weekend. They have played three PSAC opponents this season, losing to each of them.

In 2013, Pembleton leads the Lakers with 10 goals. Smith is next with 15 points on five goals and five assists.
Kelsey Lovelace has six goals.

Lindsay Brown paces The Rock with 13 goals and six assists. Kelsey Gustafson has added four goals and three helpers.

Rachael Walz has a team-high nine goals for Bellarmine. Alexis VanWallaghen and Brittany Raque have each scored seven goals.
