ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team hosts Clarion on Wednesday, January 16, at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division match is set for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.

The Lakers have a 10-5 overall record and a 6-3 PSAC mark. They lost, 68-66, at West Chester on January 11, as Troy Hockaday made a buzzer-beating layup to win it for the Rams. Mercyhurst bounced back with a 77-55 win at Cheyney on January 12.
Luis Leao made a layup with 2:40 remaining to go over 1,000 points for his career. The senior had 27 points at West Chester and then 24 points at Cheyney.
On the season, Leao is second in the league in scoring with 21.5 points per game. He is shooting 54.8 percent from the floor and 84.8 percent from the free throw line. The forward is grabbing 6.9 rebounds a game and blocking one shot per game.

Callon Dailey are each averaging between 7.9 and 8.7 points per game. Ouegnin is hitting 60.5 percent from the field while posting 3.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.
Mercyhurst is second in the PSAC in field goal shooting (48.2 percent) and free throw shooting (77.7 percent). It is also third in three-point accuracy at 35.6 percent.
Clarion has a 4-9 record and a 2-7 conference mark. It lost at Mansfield and Bloomsburg last weekend. At Bloom, the Eagles fell, 66-64, as Charles Haigler made two game-winning free throws with 11 seconds to play. Aaron Johnson was named PSAC Western Division Freshman of the Week after averaging 10.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in three games. Against Central Penn on January 8, Johnson totaled 19 points and 15 boards.
The Eagles have four players scoring in double figures, led by Mike Kromka at 13.7 points per game. Johnson and Calvin Edwards are each putting up 11 points and Leonard Patterson is averaging 10.8 points. Kromka and Johnson are combining to pull down 18.3 rebounds per game.
