#13 Women's Lacrosse Falls, 16-5, at #5 Rollins Friday

WINTER PARK, Fla.- The #13 Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team, lost 16-5, at #5 Rollins Friday night. Freshman Rebecca Himes recorded a hat trick in the defeat.
 
Carolina Lamere got the scoring started early, putting Rollins up, 1-0, at the 29:17 mark of the first half. Himes tied the score with an unassisted goal with 13:32 left in the frame. The Tars went on to score the next five goals.
 
Himes answered with her second score at the 2:06 mark to make it 6-2. Sophie Townsend capped the scoring in the first half, giving the hosts a 7-2 advantage.
 
After another Rollins goal to start the second frame, Anna LeGrett scored. However, the Tars kept up the pressure, going ahead 14-3 midway through the half. Ally Keirn scored and then Himes closed the Lakers' scoring with another unassisted goal at the 5:48 mark.
 
Jenny Perkins started and made five saves. Rebecca Muscella came on for the second half and recorded six saves. Kayla Minner led Hurst with two caused turnovers.
 
The Lakers (0-2) play at Tiffin (Ohio) Saturday, March 10. The match is slated for a noon start.
