Men's Basketball Hits Road, Plays at Urbana Sunday Afternoon

ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team travels to Urbana Sunday, November 25. The non-league contest is slated for a 2 p.m. tip-off in Urbana, Ohio.

The Lakers improved to 2-1 with a 75-61 home win over Salem International on Tuesday. Senior Luis Leao posted 19 points and eight rebounds as Mercyhurst hit 28-40 free throws to take down the Tigers.
 
Urbana has a 2-3 mark this season. It is coming off a 71-68 win over Ashland in Urbana's home opener Tuesday. Armond Battle led with 20 points and eight boards.
 
Sunday marks the Lakers' first road trip of the year. They dropped an 82-69 decision to Concord November 9 and then handled West Virginia State, 63-40, the next day. Leao leads the way with 16.3 points per game. Freshman Andy Hoying is putting up 6.3 points and team-high 6.7 rebounds per contest.
 
The Blue Knights have faced a tough schedule thus far. They fell, 105-66, to #1 West Liberty to start the season and then dropped a 54-53 nail biter at 12th-ranked Southern Indiana November 17. Ramel Mitchell made his season debut against Ashland and scored 18 points. Battle and Danny Goings are combining for 29.6 points per game through five outings.
 
Mercyhurst leads the all-time series, 6-1, including a 74-58 home win in the 2011-12 season opener.
