ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst field hockey team hosts Slippery Rock Tuesday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division game. The match is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start at Tullio Field.

The Lakers enter Tuesday with an overall record of 4-9. Their conference mark is 2-5 with three league contests remaining. Mercyhurst dropped a 5-2 decision at Seton Hill on October 6 as
Kelsey Lovelace and
Kelsey Violanti each scored.
Coach Stacey's Gaudette's squad remains in contention for a PSAC Tournament berth with two weeks left in the regular season. Indiana (Pa.), at 7-0, and Shippensburg, at 5-1, both have strong positions in the division. Slippery Rock is next at 3-3, with Seton Hill at 2-4 and Mercyhurst 2-5. The Lakers will need to win at least two of their three remaining division outings to be in the hunt for a spot in the postseason.
Marissa Faso leads the team with seven goals and four assists, while
Cayla Slade has four goals, including two in a 5-4 victory over Mansfield October 3.
Meghan Smith and Lovelace each have three goals on the year.
Slippery Rock is 6-7 overall and 3-3 in league action. The Rock took two tough losses last week, falling at home to #3 IUP and second-ranked Shippensburg. Allison Shade has a team-high six goals and Kaitlin McGinnis has five. Ally Banks has recorded three goals and four assists. Courtney Lee has started all 13 games in goal, allowing 1.49 goals against.
The Rock won, 3-2, at home over Mercyhurst September 19. Faso and
Blair Pembleton scored for the Lakers. Banks led the Rock with two goals in the match.
