EDINBORO, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst University women's tennis team closed out a perfect outing at the Fall Crossover Classic with a 9-0 triumph over the Shippensburg Raiders, picking up a third consecutive shutout win in the process. The victory improved the Lakers' record to 5-0.
Caroline Bristol,
Courtney Thompson,
Sarah Baich, and
Katelyn Caniford each pulled out a 6-0, 6-0 performance in singles play, while
Rebecca Haener and
Devon Hubbard each turned in equally-impressive outings. In doubles play, the duos of Bristol/Baich and Caniford/
Taylor Wedlake recorded shut outs in two of the three matches. Thompson/Haener would also turn in a stellar performance in the No. 2 match.
Mercyhurst will closed out its Fall Schedule on October 10 at 3:30 p.m., as they travel to take on the Penn State Behrend Lions.
