The Lakers enter Wednesday on a five-game winning streak. They are 13-5 overall and 11-3 in the PSAC. Sophomore Matt Lee was named PSAC men's basketball athlete of the week for his work in wins at Edinboro and California (Pa.) last week. Against the Fighting Scots, Lee scored a career-high 29 points to go with seven rebounds. At Cal, he scored 21, including 17 in the first half. Lee had a 2:10 stretch midway through the half that saw him drain four three-pointers.

Lock Haven is in search of its first win of the season. At 0-17 overall and 0-14 in the conference, the Bald Eagles sit in eighth place in the Western Division. They lost at #16 Indiana (Pa.), 82-44, on January 25, and then fell, 80-49, to Gannon January 28. Freshman Terrell Johnson leads the team with 13.2 points per game. First-year coach Mike Nestor has seven freshmen and no seniors on his roster this season.

Hurst is one game back of IUP for first place in the PSAC West. It is two games ahead of Slippery Rock and Clarion in the division. Coach Gary Manchel's squad saw the return of forward Luis Leao Saturday. Leao had missed the previous eight games due to an injury. He scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds in 24 minutes.

Mercyhurst has won the last five meetings in the series and leads the all-time matchup, 11-3.
