ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team heads to Edinboro Wednesday, January 25, for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contest. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. at McComb Fieldhouse.

The Lakers are alone in second place in the West at 9-3, one game behind Indiana (Pa.) Hurst beat the tenth-ranked Crimson Hawks, 71-47, January 21. Junior
Steven Coleman set a career high with 25 points, hitting 9-10 shots from the field, in the home win. It marked the first win over a Top 10 team since December 9, 2006, when the Lakers beat Grand Valley State, 79-74.
The Fighting Scots enter Wednesday having lost their last two outings. They fell, 85-57, at Slippery Rock January 21, and lost, 59-51, at IUP, January 18. Boro is 9-7 overall and 7-5 in the conference this season. It had a four-game winning streak from December 4-10 and a three-game win streak from January 7-14.
Matt Lee leads Hurst in scoring at 15.3 points per game, having hit 53 three-pointers on the year. Senior
Bill Weaver is putting up 12 points and 5.4 boards per contest, while Coleman has come on in the last week, scoring at least 10 points in each of the last three games. Four Scots are averaging double-digit points, led by center Bryan Theriot. The 6-9 sophomore is averaging 18.4 points and 9.3 rebounds and has recorded five double-doubles this season.
Edinboro is second in the league in scoring and blocked shots, while Hurst is first in made threes and turnover margin on the year.
Mercyhurst is 3-1 in West play, sweeping its three-game homestand last week. It hits the road Wednesday and again Saturday, January 28, when the Lakers head to California (Pa.).
