ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst field hockey team hosts two ranked foes at Tullio Field this weekend. On Friday, the Lakers take on top-ranked Bloomsburg Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. On Saturday, #6 Millersville comes to Erie for a 4:30 p.m. contest.

The Lakers are coming off an overtime win at Seton Hill Tuesday. Freshman
Blair Pembleton became the first rookie in program history to record a hat trick. She also scored the game-winning goal 37 seconds into extra time. The victory was the first of 2011 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division.
Mercyhurst is 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC. Pembleton is one of five first-year Lakers to score a goal this season. Hurst has also totaled 38 corners to just 25 for its opponents.
The #1 Huskies are 4-0, having picked up a conference win over second-ranked West Chester on Tuesday. Amanda Riley scored twice in the 4-1 home victory.
In 2010, Bloomsburg won the PSAC Tournament before losing to Shippensburg in the NCAA Final Four. From 2006-2009, the Huskies won four consecutive national titles.
Millersville is 2-2 after dropping a 2-1 decision to #7 Kutztown Tuesday. The Marauders have played a difficult schedule, having faced four ranked opponents thus far.
