GREENSBURG, Pa.- Blair Pembleton scored three goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as the Mercyhurst field hockey team won, 3-2, at Seton Hill Tuesday afternoon. The victory was the Lakers' first in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West this season.

Pembleton made overtime a short affair, scoring just 37 seconds in. Katie Erbacher set up the freshman for the winning goal.

Heather Apodaca gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute. Pembleton put Hurst on the board with a goal at the 21:28 mark of the first half. The Lakers took a 2-1 advantage on Pembleton's score in the 44th minute. Lauren Schumacher tied the match at the 57:19 mark, sending action into the extra period.

Ashley Wiskup made four saves in net for Mercyhurst. Rebecca Portillo recorded seven saves for Seton Hill. Hurst outshot the Griffins 16-13 and compiled 10 corners to just one for the home team.

The hat trick by Pembleton is the first by a Laker since October 15, 2009, when Emily Warren scored three goals against Limestone. It is the first time a freshman has recorded three scores in the program's 15-year history.

The Lakers improved to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC. Seton Hill dropped to 2-1 overall. This game was its first as a member of the conference in field hockey.
