Patton Wins 100th Match as Mercyhurst Volleyball Splits Pair at Home Saturday Afternoon

ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst volleyball team split two matches Saturday afternoon. They lost to West Virginia Wesleyan in three sets before bouncing back with a sweep of Pitt-Johnstown to close out action at this weekend's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)/West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) crossover event, hosted by the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.
 
Wesleyan beat Hurst by scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 25-18. Kiera Rebert led with 15 assists and Elyse Texido posted 13 digs.
 
The Lakers recovered by dispatching of UPJ in three games. They won 25-19, 25-22, and 28-26. The victory was the 100th of Coach Ryan Patton's career at Mercyhurst. He is 100-94 in his seventh year at Hurst. Sarah Vick recorded 11 kills and Rebert had 31 assists. Texido compiled 24 digs in the back row.
 
Hurst now travels to Daemen on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest.
