ERIE, Pa. – Senior
Kimberly Masterton scored six goals, including four during a 9-1 run that spanned the entire second half, as the seventh-ranked Mercyhurst College women's lacrosse team rolled to a 16-5 victory over conference foe Slippery Rock Thursday afternoon at Tullio Field.
Masterton, who now has scored at least three goals in each game this season, marked her second six-goal game of the campaign as the Lakers won for the fifth straight time (5-1, 2-0 PSAC).
Leading 7-4 at the break, Masterton orchestrated the team's second-half run by scoring twice to spark a six-goal streak that ate up nearly 20 minutes of frame. Following a Rock score at the 11:16 mark, the Lakers tacked on three more to take both teams to final horn.
Six other players joined Masterton in the offensive barrage. Sophomore
Kayla Minner and junior
Ally Keirn combined for seven points in the win, with Minner scoring a hat trick and Keirn netting a goal and three assists.

Kelly Palmer scored twice and helped out on two others, freshman
Anna LeGrett found the back of the net twice and senior
Ashley Dulaney and junior
Laura Trenti each scored once.
Mercyhurst outshot Slippery Rock 26-17 and held a 17-16 advantage in ground balls. Sophomore
Jenny Perkins improved her record to 5-1 for the season with seven saves. Slippery Rock's Kat Elkins made five stops as she fell to 2-2.
The Lakers return to action on Monday, Mar. 21 when they face Seton Hill for a 1 p.m. matchup in Greensburg, Pa.
