ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst volleyball team lost in four sets at Gannon Saturday night to end the 2011 season. The Golden Knights won by scores of 25-13, 25-16, 23-25, and 27-25 to take the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division match.
 
Gannon controlled the first two games on its way to a 2-0 lead. The Lakers won a close third frame, hitting .195 as a team. The game was even at 23 before a Knight service error and a Kelsey Richardson kill gave Hurst the victory.
 
Mercyhurst held a 25-24 edge in the fourth game before a late Gannon run ended the contest in four.
 
Becky Smith led with 17 kills. Kiera Rebert totaled 28 assists and 10 digs. Elyse Texido recorded 19 digs and Amanda Balasko added 14.
