Mercyhurst Downed by Seton Hill in Overtime Saturday Afternoon

ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst field hockey team lost, 2-1, in overtime to Seton Hill Saturday afternoon. Natasha Nichols scored in extra time to give the Griffins the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division victory.

Katlyn Heitzhaus scored at the 16:55 mark to give the Lakers a 1-0 advantage. Blair Pembleton recorded the assist. Hurst took the edge into halftime.

Michelle Hogan scored in the 51st minute to tie the contest. The match remained even until Nichols scored at the 74:53 mark to win it.

Ashley Wiskup made six saves in net as Mercyhurst was outshot 12-4.

Hurst (5-8, 3-4 PSAC) next travels to Slippery Rock Tuesday, October 11. The PSAC West game is set for a 7 p.m. start.
