EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat this evening to East Stroudsburg University under the lights at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
The loss moves the Lakers to 7-9-1 overall this season and 4-8-1 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play. The loss eliminates the Lakers from a bid in the PSAC playoffs. After the win the Warriors improve to 8-8-1 overall and 4-8-1 in the PSAC.

The Lakers were outshot 5-4 in the first half and also defended against four corners. The Warriors maintained control through much of the first half but the Lakers limited the attack to just one goal.
The Warriors tallied their second goal after a penalty was assessed against the Lakers inside the goalie box rewarding East Stroudsburg with a penalty kick. Kerri McClay was credited with the marker. The Warriors would go on to add another unassisted goal in the last three minutes of regulation to beat the Lakers 3-0.
The Lakers totaled 15 shots compared to East Stroudsburg's 12. The Warriors held a significant advantage in corners, 10-4.
Mercyhurst will wrap its season up this Saturday, Oct.29 at 2 p.m. when they travel to cross-town rival Gannon University. Lakers ended their season last year with a 7-1 win against the Golden Knights.
