Lakers Fall 1-0 at Slippery Rock Tuesday Night

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.- The Mercyhurst field hockey team lost 1-0 at Slippery Rock Tuesday night. The Rock scored with 17 minutes remaining in the second half to take the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contest.
 
The Lakers outshot the home team 7-3 in the first half and compiled a 4-2 edge in corners, but could not cash in on Rock goalie Courtney Lee. Slippery Rock turned the tide in the second half and eventually, Allison Shade put in the game-winner at the 53:17 mark.
 
Ashley Wiskup made two saves in net. Tesa Ramsdell put three shots on goal, while Serena Slattery attempted two shots.
 
Hurst heads south this weekend, as it faces Limestone on Friday, October 14, and then Mercy the following day. For a box score from the Mercyhurst-Rock game, click here.
