ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst volleyball team swept Indiana (Pa.) Saturday afternoon at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. The Lakers won 25-12, 25-19, and 25-14 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West contest.
 
Hurst started well and sustained the effort throughout the day. In the opening game, the Lakers hit .269 as a team on their way to an easy victory.
 
Mercyhurst hit only .100 in the second set, but it held the Crimson Hawks to -.024 hitting. Hurst's stellar offense returned in the final frame, as it attacked at a .300 rate.
 
Sarah Vick had a team-high 12 kills and Becky Smith added 10. Kiera Rebert and Chelsea Hennigan combined for 31 assists and Elyse Texido posted 20 digs. Hennigan had an impressive run to end the second set, recording four consecutive service aces to put away IUP.
